Deux lettres autographes signées à Maurice Nadeau

LAS du 11 mai 1954 (tampon postal) : "Dear Mr Nadeau; I would like to meet you while I am in Paris for a few days. Would you be kind enough to call me up to let me know when it would be convenient ? Sincerely Anaïs Nin".

LAS, s.d. [1964] : "Dear Mr Nadeau, I did not want you to think me unjust to Fred when I spoke of his innacuracies (sic). My close friendship with Henry lasted ten years - and really began when Fred says it ended - as you will see when you read more of the diary. It was a fruitful and good relationship which died a natural, not unnatural death. The appearance of the diary will embarass (sic) Fred. I could never understand why he falsified this. When I asked Henry he said they had many arguments on various aspects of events (while Fred stayed at Big Sur) but Fred stuck to his errors and Henry added : and I believe a man has a right to his fictions ! In fiction yes but not in biography. So now at least you know why I was mocking the accuracy of Fred's book ! I am sending you the notice of a book by a friend Anna Balakian - as you are interested in American literature. Let me know if it might interest you. I was delighted to have met you and your wife. Anaïs Nin. Henry loves my new book Collages so I'm sending you a copy !".
